Dr. Albert Bourla
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Pfizer
As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Albert Bourla leads Pfizer in its purpose, “Breakthroughs that change patients’ lives,” with a focus on driving scientific and commercial innovation to transform human health. After taking on the role of CEO in January 2019, he accelerated Pfizer’s transformation to become a more science-driven company—divesting its non-science-based businesses and increasing its R&D and technology budgets. To create a culture where the company’s people and science thrive, Albert and his leadership team established Pfizer’s Purpose Blueprint, which includes four core values: Courage, Excellence, Equity and Joy.
Albert is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and holds a Ph.D. in the Biotechnology of Reproduction from the Veterinary School of Aristotle University. He is a Genesis Prize Laureate and has received additional recognition, including the American Association of Cancer Research’s Outstanding Achievement Award for Service to Cancer Science and Medicine and the Courage Against Hate Award from the Anti-Defamation League. He was named among Time’s 100 Most Influential People in Health and CEO of the Year by CNN Business.He is Chair of the Board of Directors for both the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and the Pfizer Foundation and Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Partnership for New York City.
Albert was born and raised in Thessaloniki (Salonika), Greece and is the son of Holocaust survivors.
Honorable Adonis Georgiadis
Minister of Health of Greece
Born in Athens, Minister Georgiadis graduated from the Faculty of History and Archaeology of the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is married to classical composer and reality TV celebrity Eugenia Manolidou.A most respected politician, author and publisher, Minister Georgiadis has served in various positions in the Greek cabinet over the years. He is Vice President of New Democracy and is currently Greece’s Minister of Health.
He has been a vocal and staunch defender of Israel in recent years. In fact, just two weeks after the October 7 Hamas attacks, he became the first world leader to visit Israel.
His pro-Israel stance has been a prominent feature of Greece’s strategic pivot toward a closer alliance with Israel.
Sarah Aroeste
Sarah Aroeste is a Sephardic singer/songwriter, author and activist determined to help bring Sephardic culture to new generations. Inspired by her family’s roots in Greece and N. Macedonia, Aroeste has recorded 9 music albums and tours the globe performing traditional and original Ladino songs with her unique blend of Balkan sounds, pop, and jazz. Sarah co-directs Savor: A Sephardic Music & Food Experience, which unites Sephardic song and cuisine in multi-sensory platforms. She has written 5 Sephardic-themed children’s books and is a sought-after speaker and presenter of Sephardic culture for all ages.
